I have been thinking and brainstorming with Aimee on the playhouse in the new house. Since I don’t need the closet in the playroom, I think I will leave the doors off it and make an awning of fabric like I did for the lemonade stand. Then I will buy a white fabric shower curtain and cut out windows and a door. I will add pink grosgrain ribbon to frame the door and windows. Yes. Then the top 1/3 will be pink fabric (same as awning). Then I can hang it with a shower curtain rod. yes. Oh these projects…creating is so addictive. I want to teach my girls that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have nice things. The creative process is so fun! This pic of a small PB playhouse got me thinking…Aimee helped me figure out that the awning should be on the outside of the closet. Sewing the bedskirt ribbon gave me the idea of the windows and doors…..oooooohhhhh I want to start right now.
I love your idea about the awning coming out of the closet. We didn’t put doors on Tobin’s closet or the guest room closet in our little house. It was nice to be able to store toys and crafts and still have easy access. Fabulous ideas…thanks for sharing.
